At the packing station, the products are packed into boxes and onto pallets and prepared for road, air or sea transport - here SAP EWM provides support and shows in which quantities and shipping units the products need to be packed.

Shipping zone
The finished pallet with the filled cartons is directed to the shipping zone and from there loaded into the truck.

2. From Transport Planning to Execution: SAP Transport Management (SAP TM)

Scheduling process:
With the help of SAP TM, the Festive Season LTD consolidates the various orders into suitable tours and plans the transports to be carried out. Thanks to sophisticated algorithms, not only is the sequence of stops optimized, but also the utilization of existing transport capacities.

Loading into the truck:
The Christmas candy is loaded into a Festive Season LTD truck, and transport-relevant documents such as waybill and delivery bill are exchanged and signed.

Transport and Track & Trace:
Thanks to an SAP-based Track & Trace solution, the truck can be easily navigated to its destination, while at the same time the shipping status is sent to the supermarket.

Shipment receipt:
The Festive Season LTD truck delivers the order to the supermarket distribution center. From there, the products are distributed to the various supermarkets in the region.

3. The Yard Process with SAP Yard Logistics (SAP YL)

In parallel with the transport process, SAP solutions optimize various processes at the depot of Festive Season LTD.

Scheduling process:
With the help of SAP TM, the sequence of a tour was planned and assigned to the Festive Season LTD trucks. Time slot booking is easier to perform based on this information.

Time slot booking:
Time slot booking is coordinated and controlled via the "SAP Dock Appointment & Scheduling" integrated in SAP YL. It is also possible to assign suitable gates to the transports.

Delivery to the distribution center:
The truck arrives at the distribution center and, after registration, is directed to the correct gate. From there, the orders are distributed to the various supermarkets.
